loading a Model 39
I inherited an original Model 39 (from the 1920's) with an HS serial number. The mag tube does not have a "cut out" to load cartridges through. It is probably obvious, but how do I put the cartridges into the magazine?

You squeeze the latch on the end of the mag tube, and then pull it fully extended until it catches. This will expose the loading port and you drop in cartridges in until the last cartridge is just visible below the port. Then push the outer tube closed until it latches again.

Thank you very much. I wasn't pulling the outer tube out far enough. I didn't realize it caught when fully extended. I have an old Winchester 1906 pump and I was used to that magazine setup.
