Are the pat. # are they for different parts of the Shotgun?
It starts with April 2, 1889, Nov. 6, 1894, May, 12, 1896, June, 2, 1896, Mar., 29,1904, Nov. 29, 1904. The last one 04 is very hard to read and the scrolling of the 12 Ga is very different from the other barrels I have for the 1898 and the only one with this type of marking.

Old-school 62;
Your barrel is definitely for a Model 19. If you check the following pages from 351 to355, you will see the patent drawings for the different patent dates listed on your barrel.

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

Re: Marlin model 1889 with. 278 serial #and no safety
Thank You, is there a way to post pics of this 1989, the stock is refinished and the 3 forearms are done. Everything else is polished and ready for blueing, I have 3 sets of barrels and magazine tubes, 32" F a 30" M and a 20" Riot O. All the chambers and bore's are bright and clean.
Getting ready to Blue everything and a Rock Island 03A1 WWI matching #'s.
I would like to post pics to show the the details of the Shotgun's inter workings so maybe it will help someone else.
Again thank you for all your help . . .
